Another hot start for the coast and the lakes. With moisture in place, we could see a repeat of the isolated showers and t-storms as we saw yesterday. Highs today will again reach the lower 90's. By Friday and through the weekend, we will see the moisture out and hot temps on the rise. Look for mid and upper 90's by Sunday and Monday.

Police questioning three suspects in Jasper shooting that leaves teen dead

JASPER KJAS Radio - by Mike Lout

Jasper Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred shortly before 5:00 Wednesday evening on the north side of town.

Police say someone apparently knocked on a wall or door at a mobile home in the 1300 block of North Bowie Street and when the occupant of the home went to look out of a window, someone shot him through the window with a shotgun.

The 19-year-old male victim was rushed by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time after arrival.

Police sources say a vehicle, described as a maroon Mercedes Benz SUV, was located in the 900 block of Avenue A about two hours after the shooting. Sources also say that two suspects were found in the vehicle and detained for questioning. Meanwhile, a third suspect reportedly turned himself in a short time later.

The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
