Emergency workers responding to reported drowning

UPDATE: A nursing supervisor said doctors are evaluating the 2-year old boy in the emergency room of Christus Hospital St.Elizabeth.

NEWTON COUNTY- The Newton County Sheriff's Office is responding to a reported drowning of a baby. A dispatcher told KFDM News the call came in about 4 p.m. and that the baby was alive.

It happened on County Road 4139 off of Highway 12. We understand a medical helicopter is transporting the child to Christus Hospital St.Elizabeth's. Stay with KFDM News for updates on this story.
