Police, CPS searching for woman seen on cell phone video slapping, screaming at baby

BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police and Child Protective Services tell KFDM News they're searching Thursday for a woman caught on cell phone video slapping a baby and cursing at home so loudly a neighbor across the street heard it.

Watch KFDM News at 6 for Leslie Rangel's report in which she investigates what happened and talks with a neighbor as well as a CPS spokeswoman.

Shari Pulliam with Child Protective Services says the video was recorded by a man who lives in the 1300 block of Liberty Street.

In the video, you can see the woman appearing to slap the baby a number of times while she yells obscenities and tells the child to shut up.

Pulliam says the man who recorded the video called police. Officers spoke to the homeowner, who says the woman is an acquaintance and that he wasn't home at the time.

Child Protective Services is concerned because the baby appears to be very young.

Police are asking you to take a close look at the video, hoping you can help find the woman and child.
