Video shows woman slapping baby, using obscenities, telling child to "shut up." CPS, BPD searching for woman and baby
BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police and Child Protective Services are searching for a woman seen on cell phone video slapping a baby and using obscenities while shouting at the infant to "shut up."
Watch KFDM News at 10 to hear more about the story and learn what CPS is saying.
A man in the 13 hundred block of Liberty in Beaumont captured the cell phone video Tuesday and called police to report what he'd seen on the front porch of the home across the street.
KFDM News spoke with Shari Pulliam of CPS.
"We're concerned," said Pulliam. "This is a small baby. CPS and Beaumont Police are actively looking for the baby and the woman seen in the video. We spoke to the man who owns the home where it happened. He said the woman was no longer there. He told us it was an acquaintance and the child isn't his. He's not a party to what happened. She's slapping the child. Her tone of voice, and her words, make us very concerned for the child. If anyone knows where the woman and baby are, they need to call us. Thanks goodness a concerned neighbor saw what happened and called authorities."
If you have information about the woman and child, call Beaumont Police or CPS.
