Purse-snatching victim dragged down road and hurt, suspect caught following chase

ORANGE - KFDM News was at the scene when law enforcement officers in Orange caught a purse-snatching suspect accused of dragging a woman down a road and injuring her after she refused to release her purse.

KFDM was in Orange at the time of the purse-snatching and chase. Watch Live at 5 and KFDM News at 6 for more on the story, including reaction.

The chase covered several blocks at about noon Friday near 10th, Park and Green in Orange. It ended with a suspect in custody, accused of aggravated robbery and evading. Police recovered the purse.

The purse-snatching victim was taken by ambulance to Christus Hospital St. Mary for treatment of head injuries.

Police are searching for a second person involved in the crime. That person was last seen walking down Meeks Drive.
