Driver passes out, wakes up, leads officers on 90 mph chase

Houston police responded to reports of a man asleep behind the wheel of a car only to be led on a lengthy high-speed chase early Monday.
Officers said it was just after 1 a.m. when they responded to reports of a man asleep in his car on N. Kirkwood near the Katy Freeway. When officers knocked on his window, the man woke up and took off.
Police followed the suspect to the 610 Loop where he went northbound and then eastbound, at times hitting 90 mph.
The driver led officers around the Loop to the southeast side where he went southbound on MLK to Allison. The driver eventually crashed in a ditch on Woody at Becky near Pearland.
He was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving.
Police also said the car he was driving was reported stolen earlier in the day.
