PAFD: Driver freed after trapped in burning car following collision with house

PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur Fire and Police are investigating an accident in which a driver crashed into the garage of a home and was briefly trapped after the pickup burst into flames. The driver's injuries aren't life threatening.

The vehicle struck the garage at about 8:30 a.m. Monday in the 3400 block of 24th Street near 8th Avenue.

The pickup traveled through a backyard and chain link fence before crashing into the garage.

First responders transported the driver to a hospital. They say his injuries aren't life threatening.

Police are investigating whether a medical condition was a factor or whether the driver may have been under the influence of a substance.
