Deputies arrest suspects in home invasion with elderly woman victimized

JEFFERSON COUNTY - Jefferson County deputies have arrested two suspects in a home invasion in which a 79-year-old woman in Nome was victimized.

Marcom Dwayne Stagg, 25, of Beaumont, and Thomas Christopher Stagg, 26, of Beaumont, are charged with Aggravated Robbery. Their bonds are $100,000 each. Both are in the Jefferson County Jail. Deputy Rod Carroll says they're brothers.

On Friday, May 16 at 11:53 p.m. the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office dispatch center received a call of a Home Invasion / Aggravated Robbery that had just occurred in the 1100 block of Kotz Road in Nome. The 79-year-old homeowner awakened and found three men with guns inside her residence. Deputies say the men assaulted the woman while they located and removed a large amount of cash and a flat screen TV.

The victim was transported to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth for treatment of injuries. She was later released after treatment.
