PAPD investigating possible drowning
UPDATE: A Pleasure Island resident heard and saw a person fall from the City of Port Arthur dock, directly behind city hall in the 400 block of 4th Street, at almost 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Port Arthur Police Department.
The person drowned after falling into the water.
The witness flagged down a nearby U.S. Coast Guard vessel and they immediately began a search, according to the Port Arthur Police Department.
The Coast Guard was joined by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Marine Unit and Port Arthur Fire and Rescue and a short time later an unidentified person, described as a black middle aged man, was pulled from the Sabine-Neches Ship Channel.
JP Gillam was called to the scene and as of 2 p.m. the victim had not been identified.
PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur Police and Fire are investigating a possible drowning in the Sabine-Neches Waterway behind Port Arthur City Hall, according to information provided to KFDM News.

First Responders say they found a bicycle near the waterway and a hat in the water but no sign of a person.
They're trying to determine of someone is in the water. The Coast Guard is assisting.
