Former Central HS student turned teacher arrested

KFDM News - A former Central High School student athlete -- who went on to become a teacher -- was arrested and charged with improper relationship with a student.

Daimon Sweet, most recently a history teacher at Morton Ranch High School in Katy, was booked into the Harris County Jail. His bond was set at $30,000.

Katy ISD officials say the investigation began with an anonymous text message sent to an administrator on May 15.

The message alleged a sexual relationship between the 44-year-old Sweet and a 17-year-old student.

Investigators say both of them denied it when interviewed. Officers then searched the girl's cell phone, and she admitted the affair happened, according to district officials.

Sweet resigned from Katy ISD on May 19, and Katy ISD police arrested him June 4 and charged him with felony improper relationship.
