A dry weather pattern will continue for the next few days with below normal temperatures. In fact, scattered frost can be expected Sunday morning over the Lakes Area. A warming trend will begin early next week with a good coverage of showers and thunderstorms by the middle and later part of next week.
LSC-PA has new president
Lamar State College-Port Arthur has a new president: Dr. Betty Renard. The Texas State University board of regents confirmed it Wednesday.
Reynard is currently the vice president for academic affairs at Lamar Institute of Technology. She began her career as a faculty member at Lamar in 1979.
Reynard was the sole finalist for the job and she take over as president on September 1st for Dr. Sam Monroe who spent 49 years at the college.
