Controlled burn at McFaddin Wildlife Refuge creates smoky skies
BEAUMONT - by Lauren Huet
A controlled burn in the McFaddin Wildlife Refuge filled the skies with black smoke across Southeast Texas.
According to a spokesperson from Sea Rim State Park, McFaddin Wildlife Refuge is doing a controlled burn today. The fire could be responsible for smoke that's spread all the way to Lumberton.
The spokesperson says, Friday, lightning caused several wildfires yesterday at Sea Rim, McFaddin, and near the Intracoastal Waterway. Fire crews extinguished the blazes.
