The victim's identity is being withheld at this time until family or next of kin are notified.

Detectives learned that the incident began when the suspect, Amanda Parker, went to a residence in the 6900 block of Swisher St. in Mauriceville, Orange County, Texas.  She was met outside the home in the front yard by the victim who did not live at the residence.  A verbal argument ensued and Parker pulled out a handgun and shot the victim twice.  Parker then chased a female resident who ran to a neighbor's house in the 7800 block of Roger St.  The female alerted the neighbors in the home that she was being chased and to call 9-1-1.  When Parker entered the home shortly behind the female, the residents in the home were able to restrain Parker and take the weapon from her.  Deputies arrived and obtained custody of Parker.

An autopsy has been ordered and the investigation is on-going.                  ____________________________________________________________
