One person detained following Orange County shooting
A 36-year-old man was detained and is possibly facing charges of Aggravated Assault with an Deadly Weapon following a shooting in the 3100 block of Timberlake Street near the Bridge City area of Orange County, Chief Deputy Clint Hodgkinson said.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office received a call concerning a shooting in the 3100 block of Timberlake Street at around 3:40 p.m. Thursday.
Upon arrival deputies found a man lying in the road with what appeared to be a gunshot wound in his thigh, Hodgkinson said.
The man was conscious and alert but bleeding from his leg and an ambulance transported him to a Beaumont hospital with what authorities believe is a non-life threatening injury.
The 36-year-old man who lives at the residence in the 3100 block of Timberlake Street was detained and is facing possible charges of Aggravated Assault with an Deadly Weapon.
Investigators are currently speaking with witnesses and meeting with the gunshot victim at the hospital.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing at this time and the cause of the events that led up to the shooting is currently unknown.
