Early voting begins for State Senate election

SOUTHEAST TEXAS - Early voting is underway Monday for the August 5 runoff election in State Senate District 4.

Republicans Brandon Creighton and Steve Toth are battling for the seat. Both men are state representatives. Creighton is from Conroe. Toth is from The Woodlands.

Republican Tommy Williams resigned last October after more than a decade representing the district.

Creighton came out far ahead of Toth in the May special election but fell short of the 50 percent he needed to avoid a runoff.

Early voting began Monday morning and continues through Friday.
