Some mostly light showers will continue tonight into Saturday morning ahead of a strong upper level disturbance which will bring us widespread heavy thunderstorms late Saturday into early Sunday morning. Drier air will take over Sunday with cooler temperatures next week.
BPD: 19-year-old shot following argument, shooter on the run

On Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at about 9:16 p.m., Patrol Officers responded to a reported shooting at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of S. 4th Street. The caller advised she heard several shots fired and saw a man lying on the ground. When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old Beaumont man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. Beaumont EMS transported the man to St. Elizabeth ER where doctors began to treat him for the non-life threatening injury.
At this early point in the investigation, it appears that the man had been involved in an argument with an acquaintance. The argument escalated to a fight during which the suspect produced a gun and fired several times at the victim. The suspect then fled the area.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses and are attempting to confirm a preliminary identification of the suspect.
BEAUMONT - Police are working a shooting at the Maple Housing Complex in the 4300 block of S. Fourth Street in Beaumont.
Photojournalist Chip Field is on the scene. A person was shot and transported to the hospital, according to Beaumont Fire/EMS dispatch.
