DPS troopers identify man killed in auto-pedestrian accident

BEAUMONT- DPS Troopers have identified a man killed in a fatal auto-pedestrian accident Friday shortly before 11 p.m. on Interstate 10 near Smith Rd.

Investigators said Karim Pearsley, 34, of Beaumont was walking in a travel lane when the driver of a 2003 Toyota Camry traveling westbound hit him. A judge pronounced Pearsley dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
