Heat Index could reach 106; relief on the way

SOUTHEAST TEXAS - The Heat Index is expected to reach 106 in parts of Southeast Texas Monday, but relief is on the way in the form of cooler temperatures and an increasing possibility of rain.

Temperatures Monday will rise to the mid to upper 90's. The humidity will make it feel as if it's in the mid 100's. The chance of rain Monday is about 30 percent.

Rain chances increase to 40 percent Tuesday with temperatures dropping several degrees to the low 90's.

There's a 50 percent chance of rain Friday with temperatures dropping to the low 80's.

Temperatures pick back up this coming weekend to the upper 80's to about 90.
