A little better coverage of showers can be expected Wednesday as deeper moisture should move northward off the Gulf.  The next cold front will be in our area Friday morning with scattered showers and thunderstorms rather likely Thursday evening into Friday.  Cooler and drier air will take over this weekend.

Two transported following accident

Vidor police officers responded to an accident at about noon Monday in the 1700 block of Highway 12 in front of the Dollar General Store, a news release stated.

After arriving they learned that a Toyota Camry traveling west on Highway 12 was in the left turn lane about to turn into the driveway of the Dollar General Store. Meanwhile, a gray Chevy Astro van was traveling east on Highway 12. Police say the Toyota attempted to make the left turn and turned in front of the van causing the van to strike the car in the right side.

Two occupants were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital.
