Woman killed in Bridge City auto-pedestrian accident

KFDM News learned that a 35-year-old woman died after being hit by a truck Wednesday morning in Bridge City.

Bridge City dispatch received a call about a woman who appeared to be intoxicated at about 5 a.m. in the 500 block of East Roundbunch. While a dispatcher was taking information from the caller, a second call came in saying the woman had just been hit by a truck, according to Judge Derry Dunn, the Orange County Justice of the Peace.

The driver of the truck was going about 20 to 30 miles per hour when the accident occurred in the 500 block of East Roundbunch near Douglas Road, Dunn said.

KFDM learned the victim was 35-year-old Natalie Chaison of Bridge City and an autopsy and toxicology report have been ordered.

The accident is currently under investigation and there are currently no charges against the driver.
