Man dies after fall on ship docked in Beaumont

BEAUMONT - A fall on a ship docked in Beaumont has claimed the life of a crew member.

It happened around 1:45 p.m., when a crew member aboard the ship, Mystic Striker, fell to his death while aboard the ship. The ship was moored at the ExxonMobil dock.

ExxonMobil officials said: "We were made aware of the incident involving a crew member aboard the Mystic Striker, a third-party vessel."

Capt. Brad Penisson of the Beaumont Fire Department says the crew member fell 10 feet and landed on a middle deck of the ship.

The ship's owner/operator is based in Athens, Greece.
