Crash closes eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY - from DPS (7:30 a.m.)

At this time, eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Orange County are still shutdown due to an earlier crash.

The crash involved an 18-wheeler and another commercial motor vehicle.  Troopers have not determined the exact cause of the crash but are currently interviewing witnesses, including both drivers.  One of the drivers was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The impact of the crash caused diesel fuel to be spilled on the roadway and hazmat crews are in route to the crash location.  Due to the fuel leakage, the eastbound lanes of the Interstate will be shutdown for an undetermined amount of time.

Troopers and local emergency personnel are safely working to clear the roadway.  Motorists should find alternate routes and avoid this area if at all possible.

(earlier information) Currently, all eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 between mile markers 864 and 865 in Orange County are closed to do a major traffic crash. The crash occurred around 4:00am.

Troopers arrived on scene approximately 30 minutes ago. Initial reports show that a collision occurred between an 18-wheeler and a passenger vehicle.
