Wednesday night house fire second arson case of the day in Beaumont
BEAUMONT - Beaumont firefighters are working the second arson case of the day, this time a vacant home investigators say was set on fire Wednesday night on Hazel Avenue.

The fire was reported after 8 p.m. Wednesday at a vacant home in the 1700 block of Hazel. Capt. Brad Penisson told KFDM News the home had been vacant and utilities weren't connected. Neighbors told us it had been vacant for about two years and transients regularly used the home.
There are no injuries.
Firefighters responded to a deliberately set fire that heavily damaged a vacant home early Wednesday morning on St. Helena.

8/6/2014/Shortly after 8:00 PM, Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a reported structure fire at 1792 Hazel. When firefighters arrived, they found the front of the house on fire. Firefighters were able to control the fire within minutes and the fire damage was moderate. The house was vacant with no utilities connected. The cause of the fire appears to be deliberate. Neighbors reported the house has been vacant for years and transients used the house regularly.
