Beaumont firefighters on scene tonight of another vacant house fire

BEAUMONT - Beaumont firefighters are on the scene of a house fire.

The fire happened around 10 p.m. at Johns and Blanchette. The home is vacant.

There has been a rash of vacant house fires in Beaumont in recent weeks. This morning (Thursday), investigators say someone set a home on fire in the 2200 block of Rusk Street.

BEAUMONT - Beaumont firefighters are investigating yet another vacant house fire in the city, following a rash of vacant house fires in recent weeks.

The fire was reported at 4 a.m. Thursday at 2255 Rusk. Flames were pouring out of the home when firefighters arrived. They controlled the fire within about 20 minutes. No one was hurt.

The house was vacant with no utilities connected. The cause of the fire appears to be deliberate.

Investigators are searching for the person who set the fire.
