Some receive minimal rain, others 6 inches

SOUTHEAST TEXAS -   A line of storms moved across Southeast Texas Friday morning, dropping half a foot of rain in spots and minimal amounts in other areas. KFDM meteorologists are tracking the rain chances and the development of Tropical Storm Bertha.

Stay with KFDM and for updates.

About 6 inches of rain fell in Houston, more than 5 inches near Colmesneil and in parts of Polk County, but only about half an inch in parts of Beaumont and the Golden Triangle.

Bertha is moving west toward the Caribbean. It's expected to affect the Windward Islands Friday, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Dominican Republic Saturday. Bertha is then expected to track through the southeast Bahamas Sunday. A U.S. threat appears unlikely but can't be completely ruled out.
