Cause of house fire appears to be deliberate

BEAUMONT - Beaumont firefighters are investigating a fire they believe someone deliberately set Wednesday in a vacant home, one of several cases of arson at vacant homes in the city in recent weeks.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Beaumont Fire Rescue Units responded to a reported structure fire at 3360 St. Helena. 

When firefighters arrived they found the front of a vacant house on fire.  The fire was spreading into the attic area.  Firefighters were able to control the fire within five minutes. 

The house was vacant with no utilities connected.  The cause of the fire appears to be deliberate.
