Why Orange County fire was difficult to extinguish

ORANGE COUNTY - Investigators are working to learn the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in Orange County.

In addition to heavy flames, there was another obstacle making it difficult for firefighters at the scene.

Fire officials say that fighting fires that are outside the city limits can be more of a challenge. Within the city, firefighters have closer access to fire hydrants.

During Friday's fire, trucks constantly had to stop and go get extra water from a another facility down the street.

Around 1:45 p.m., neighbors called 911 after seeing flames. They weren't sure  if people were still inside. Both officials and the family say no one was home and they're grateful.
